Once we schedule your initial appointment, you’ll receive an email invitation to join the SimplePractice client portal. After registering, you can easily complete intake paperwork, sign consent forms, and review payment options.

Individual Therapy - $150 an hour

Payment

Out-of-Pocket: 

Some clients choose to pay out of pocket—either because they don’t have insurance or prefer to keep insurance companies out of managing their care. Paying privately offers several benefits:

  • Increased privacy and confidentiality

  • Greater flexibility in choosing a therapist

  • More control over treatment decisions

  • No need to navigate insurance approvals or coverage restrictions

  • Faster access to care

Using Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits: 

I am not in-network with any insurance providers; however, many plans offer out-of-network benefits that may be able to reimburse a portion of your therapy costs. With this option, you pay the full session fee upfront then I provide a detailed invoice (i.e. superbill) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Please note: reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by plan. Further, typically only the first 60 minutes of a session are eligible for reimbursement.

Questions to Consider Asking Your Insurance Provider:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health services?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?

  • What is my reimbursement rate for the following services/CPT codes?

    • 90791 (Initial Intake Session, up to 90 minutes)

    • 90834 (Individual Therapy, 38 to 52 minutes)

    • 90837 (Individual Therapy, more than 52 minutes)

  • Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered per year?

  • Do I need prior authorization or a referral to use my out-of-network benefits?

  • Is any additional documentation required beyond a superbill for reimbursement?

Location

My office is located in West Annapolis at 104 Forbes Street, Suite 205, Annapolis, MD 21401. The building offers ample free parking and is equipped with an elevator for easy access.

Availability

Due to my ongoing work at St. John’s College, I typically see private practice clients on Fridays during the academic year. My availability expands during the college’s winter, spring, and summer breaks, offering greater flexibility for intensive sessions.
